Atarua’s Designer Entrance Doors

A new range of entrance doors designed and manufactured by Atarua Joinery will be coming here soon!

We currently manufacture the ‘Citadel’ which is available in various timbers such as Kwila, Jarrah, Cedar and Pine.

Although this is a vertical groove door it is not the same as the usual TG & V door. The unique design of a marine ply core with laminated solid timber boards makes these doors extremely stable. You will have no problems with fitting hardware and have the added bonus of being able to cut out any shape of vision panel as this door is completely solid.

For the security conscious – this is the door for you! Approximately 50kgs (depending on timber and size) of solid door with various hardware options that can be added e.g. a 3 point lock system.

Note: If such a door is being fitted into an aluminium extrusion please check with your aluminium joiner regarding weight factors.

We love this door so much, and the endless variations make this door something special!

Pictured below is the ‘Citadel’ made from stain quality cedar, with 3 beaded vision panels. This is an over-height door for a restaurant. Just by putting in some vision panels and adding the hardware – you too can create a unique door.

If you have a certain design in mind that you would like for your entrance door please contact us to discuss.

Atarua’s Recieves "Highly Commended" Award

For a first time entry into the NZTIA Solid Timber Joinery Awards we are thrilled to have come away with “Highly Commended” award for Best Entrance.

Pictured below is our entry for the 2005 NZTIA Solid Timber Joinery Awards. These doors were made for Vinoptima Vineyard in Gisborne, measuring a staggering 4.5m high and over 3m wide. The doors can be opened right up to allow vehicles to drive in.

These doors are basically a variation of our standard Citadel door. However, due to the size there were a few challenges, such as when it came time to sand them we had to use a floor sander!
